The mountains and trails we design for are the reason Unwaver exists, so looking after them isn’t an afterthought. It shapes what we make, what we make it from, and where.
Most outdoor clothing is made from synthetic fibres — plastic — that shed microfibres with every wash and last for centuries once thrown away. We use wool instead: in our merino base layers, and as the insulation in our vests and jackets.
Wool is renewable and biodegradable, and processing it takes less energy than producing synthetic fibres. It is naturally flame-resistant, so it needs no chemical treatment, and it stays fresh for longer, so it needs washing less often.
Our vests and jackets are sewn in our own workshop in Aranđelovac, Serbia. We know who makes every garment and how, and we keep production close to the people who wear it.
The most sustainable jacket is the one you don’t have to replace. We choose materials and construction for durability, and we help you care for and repair what you own.
We work with certified materials wherever we can. The certifications that apply to a garment — such as mulesing-free merino or OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 — are listed on its product page.
